Welcome to Clarkston Cross Country

CJHS & SMS Registration

Are you interested in joining the Clarkston Junior High 8th grade cross country team and the Sashabaw Middle school 6th and 7th grade team? See below for the fall announcement for information about the team. The following needs to be completed to register for the fall cross country season:

  1. Complete the cross country online Athletic Form
  2. Pay and complete the Community Education registration and fee
    This is done through Independence Township Parks and Recreation. You can register in person, by phone or online. Visit the township parks and rec website at itpr.org to register online. Search for community ed (CCE) then Youth Exercise then cross country.
  3. Download and complete a physical with your doctor then turn in a copy to your coach

All of the above need to be completed before you attend your first practice. If you will miss the first day or 2 of practices, send us an email so we know to see you soon.

Online registration for the fall opens near the beginning of August. However you will want to print off and schedule your physical with your family doctor sooner. Pine Knob Urgent Care does do walk in sports physicals.

We appreciate your help in making our season successful. See below on how you can take part.

  • Text message sign up (remind app)
    Receive last minute announcements from your coach. Example, the meet host makes a change to the schedule of events, practice is cancelled, etc.
    SMS (6th & 7th grade) Remind Sign Up: remind.com/join/smscrossx

    Summer Running Sign Up: remind.com/join/smcjhsumxc (only used during the summer conditioning)
  • Help with our home meets & Elementary Race
    We are unable to host our own home meets and coordinate the elementary race without your help. The away meets also go much smoother with your help. See the descriptions in the sign up genius. Thank you!
  • SMS Drivers (home meets only)
    For our two home meets only, Sashabaw needs parent volunteers to drive runners from SMS to CHS.

Elementary Race - Friday 10/20

Dress for the weather! We run in sunshine, windy, rain, snow (it has), in any weather. Make sure to put your bib # on the outside of any clothing. If it stays rainy the course can get muddy.

2023 Elementary Cross Country Race

Save the date! The 2023 Elementary Cross Country Race will be on Friday, October 20. Register online before the race for a smooth race day experience.

2023 Fall Cross Country

Sashabaw Middle School and Clarkston Junior High will be starting practice on the first full day of school (Tuesday, August 29).  Have a sports physical completed BEFORE you start practice. See below for physical information.
